Travel camp is a day camp for teen- agers who may be too young
to work or too old for a traditional day camp format. Area theme parks, malls
and movies, beaches and amusement parks are some of the places that are visited
each week. This five-week program starts the last week in June and ends the first
week in August. Choose all or some weeks. (Two-week minimum).

Weekly camp sessions begin with our early June camp during
the week of Jun. 11. During the last week of August, we offer morning Davis Cup
competition.
There are two sessions offered each week. Campers may sign
up for one or both sessions. Instructional (9 a.m.-noon): conditioning, footwork
stroke mechanics, shot selection, placement, depth and spin, rules and sportsmanship
are included in this instructional phase of the day. Competitive (1 p.m.-4 p.m.):
Here the focus is on singles and doubles strategy, incorporating charting, ladder
matches, exchange matches, Davis Cup competition, Junior USA Ralleyball and team
tennis.

The Conservatory offers music camps, instrumental camps and
a children’s opera workshop: Musical Jamboree (ages 4-7) is a half-day program

Try It Out (grades 1-6) is a half-day camp for students, with
or without musical experience, to try a musical instrument they have always wanted
to play.
Flute Camp 2001 is for flutists (grades 6-12) with a minimum
of one year of experience. Flute camp meets daily, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
New this year is the children’s Opera Workshop (ages 8-14)
which meets evenings starting in late May through July 30. The children will
be presenting "The Princess and the Pea" in four performances.
